Test captain Babar Azam has been named among 17 Pakistan players registered for the International League T20 season five player auction, scheduled for October 1 in Dubai. Babar enters at the highest base-price bracket of USD 80,000 alongside Fakhar Zaman, Naseem Shah, Sahibzada Farhan and Usman Tariq.

More than 200 cricketers from 23 countries will participate in the auction. Each franchise enters with a purse between USD 1.3 million and USD 1.39 million and must finish with a squad of 18 to 23 players, including minimum quotas from Afghanistan, Ireland, the UAE, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.

The fifth season of ILT20 will run from November 22 to December 20 across Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah. Babar has registered for the tournament for the first time.

CricHubb Take

Babar's first entry into the ILT20 pool gives UAE franchises a chance to pair Pakistan's Test captain with their existing overseas core, but the USD 80,000 starting price will test how much they value his T20 output versus established overseas options.
