Jammu and Kashmir dismissed Rest of India for 237 on the opening day of the Irani Cup at Sher-i-Kashmir Stadium in Srinagar. Rishabh Pant's side lost their last seven wickets for 89 runs after reaching 148 for three.

Shikhar Mohan top-scored with 60 off 118 balls, while Ravichandran Smaran made 68 off 83 deliveries. Sunil Kumar and Nasir Muzaffar each took three wickets for Jammu and Kashmir, with Umar Nazir Mir claiming the wickets of Sarfaraz Khan and Pant.

Jammu and Kashmir reached 21 for two in reply at stumps, trailing by 216 runs. The five-day match marks the first time Srinagar has hosted the Irani Cup.
