Arunachal Pradesh forfeit Ranji Trophy opener against Nagaland
Arunachal Pradesh forfeited their Ranji Trophy opener against Nagaland due to an administrative deadlock within the state association.
Arunachal Pradesh forfeited their Ranji Trophy Plate Group opener against Nagaland on Sunday after an administrative deadlock left the state cricket association without a functioning authority. The match was scheduled to begin at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
The forfeiture follows Arunachal Pradesh's failure to field a team for their Vinoo Mankad Trophy fixture against Sikkim in Bhubaneswar earlier this week. The crisis stems from a legal battle over the Arunachal Cricket Association's September elections.
The matter is pending before the Itanagar bench of the Gauhati High Court. BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia said the legal impasse had already disrupted Arunachal Pradesh's participation in junior domestic competitions.

The forfeiture shows how administrative disputes at state level can prevent players from competing regardless of their preparation or ability.
