West Indies add Amir Jangoo as cover for injured Jewel Andrew
West Indies added Amir Jangoo to their T20I squad after Jewel Andrew suffered a finger injury during the third ODI against India.
West Indies added wicketkeeper-batter Amir Jangoo to their T20I squad as cover for Jewel Andrew, who sustained a finger injury during the third ODI against India on October 3. Andrew suffered the injury while completing the catch of Naman Dhir and was taken for a scan, which revealed no fracture.
Cricket West Indies said Andrew remains under observation by the medical team and is not ruled out of the T20I series. Jangoo has played seven T20Is since his debut in December 2024 and scored 239 runs across the ODI series, finishing third among run-scorers from both teams.
The first T20I is scheduled for October 6 in Lucknow. Andrew was unable to open the innings in the West Indies chase of 352 in the third ODI, with Shai Hope replacing him at the top of the order.

Jangoo's addition provides West Indies with batting depth at the top order while Andrew recovers. His ODI form offers a ready replacement option if the injury lingers into the T20I series.
