Arshdeep says India executed plan to dismiss Shai Hope

Arshdeep Singh reveals India planned to keep Shai Hope quiet in Indore T20I.

Arshdeep Singh said India's bowlers followed a clear plan to restrict Shai Hope in the third T20I against West Indies in Indore on Sunday. Hope, who had scored centuries in the preceding ODIs and an unbeaten 102 in the second T20I, managed only five runs before Arshdeep bowled him in the second over.

Arshdeep finished with three wickets as India defended 223 to win by 14 runs and take a 2-1 lead in the five-match series. He credited Mayank and the other four bowlers for maintaining pressure throughout the innings. Arshdeep also apologised to Axar Patel for a mid-pitch mix-up that resulted in the all-rounder's run-out.

Former West Indies pacer Ian Bishop said the absence of dew helped India's bowlers execute their plans. He noted that Arshdeep led the attack and received support from Naman Dhir in setting fields.

CricHubb Take

The plan to dismiss Hope early succeeded because India retained Naman Dhir specifically for his fielding and tactical input, a detail the match report underplays but which Arshdeep himself highlighted.
