Chapman and Foulkes ruled out of India T20I series
New Zealand confirmed hamstring and hip flexor injuries have ended Chapman and Foulkes' T20I tour of India.
New Zealand have ruled Mark Chapman and Zak Foulkes out of the five-match T20I series against India, which begins on October 22. Chapman sustained a left hamstring tear during the European T20 Premier League, while Foulkes injured his right hip flexor during training with Canterbury. Both players are unavailable for the T20Is but Chapman is expected to recover in time for the subsequent ODI series.
New Zealand Cricket has named Josh Clarkson and Blair Tickner as replacements. Head coach Rob Walter said he was gutted for the injured pair but welcomed the return of the two replacements ahead of the tour. The T20I series will be played in Christchurch, Wellington, Auckland and Hamilton before India and New Zealand contest five ODIs and two Tests.

The Black Caps have now lost two frontline options inside a week, and the replacements carry limited recent international T20I experience. That narrows Walter's options against India's batting depth.
