Delhi Capitals Women retain six overseas players for 2027
Delhi Capitals Women retained six overseas players and seven Indians, leaving five slots and Rs 1.1 crore for the WPL 2027 auction.
Delhi Capitals Women kept Jemimah Rodrigues as captain along with Shafali Verma, Marizanne Kapp, Laura Wolvaardt, Annabel Sutherland and Chinelle Henry for the 2027 season. They also retained seven Indian players including Niki Prasad, Sree Charani and Minnu Mani.
The retentions left the franchise with Rs 1.1 crore in the purse and five slots to fill, one of them overseas. Before the auction they released Alana King, Sneh Rana, Taniya Bhatia and Lizelle Lee.
The decisions give Delhi Capitals Women a settled overseas core while opening options to strengthen their Indian contingent with the remaining funds.

By locking in their overseas core early, Delhi Capitals Women have signalled that they will use the remaining purse to target Indian depth rather than another high-profile overseas addition.
