Yuzvendra Chahal reveals 26-day rehab stay after alcohol crossed limits
Chahal described how alcohol addiction peaked after his divorce and how a 26-day rehab programme helped him regain control.
Yuzvendra Chahal spent 26 days in rehab after alcohol got out of hand following his divorce. He told Aakash Chopra the issue started with IPL parties back in 2011 and spiralled once the marriage ended.
He realised the drinking would cost him the cricket he cared about most. The time away sharpened his mind and steadied his emotions, he said.
Last season the 233-wicket spinner felt physically 30 again through training and matches.

Chahal's story raises the question of whether other spinners in their mid-30s are being moved on too quickly for supposed fitness reasons rather than performance, when a similar break might have kept them on the park.
