BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia confirmed on Monday that the first ODI against Sri Lanka remains in Delhi on 13 December. Saikia dismissed reports that the match would move to Ahmedabad because of construction work at Arun Jaitley Stadium. He said bilateral fixtures follow the board's standard allotment policy and no change had been made.

The three-match ODI series begins in Delhi, moves to Bengaluru on 16 December and ends in Ahmedabad on 19 December. Sri Lanka will also play three T20Is in Rajkot, Cuttack and Pune between 22 and 27 December. Speculation about a venue shift had arisen after reports of drainage upgrades and pitch relaying at the Delhi ground.

Saikia urged media to refer to official BCCI communications for schedule updates. The Delhi venue last hosted an international match during India's series against Afghanistan.

CricHubb Take

The clarification removes one scheduling uncertainty but leaves the broader December pollution risk unaddressed. Delhi's air quality has forced training cancellations and on-field discomfort in past fixtures, and the board has offered no contingency plan if conditions deteriorate again.
