Misbah-ul-Haq offers resignation from PCB selection committee

Misbah-ul-Haq offers resignation from PCB selection committee after squad overhaul in England; board launches investigation into Imam-ul-Haq injury.

Misbah-ul-Haq has offered to resign from Pakistan's national selection committee following the PCB's mid-series overhaul during the England Test tour. The former captain submitted his resignation via email on September 1, citing a lack of consultation over the Test squad.

The PCB made sweeping changes after Pakistan's heavy loss at Lord's, sending seven players home and replacing two coaches. Five uncapped players have been added to the squad for the final Test. The board has also launched a high-level investigation into Imam-ul-Haq's injury after releasing the batter from the tour.

PCB has not yet accepted Misbah's resignation. He has also decided to leave his position as batting consultant at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore.

CricHubb Take

Pakistan cricket's administrative churn has accelerated beyond player performance. The PCB's decision to overhaul a squad mid-series now risks institutional knowledge loss at the exact moment selection decisions require stability.
