Shafali Verma scored 64 off 36 balls as India posted 159 for nine after a late collapse. Nandni Sharma also took three wickets while Nannapat Koncharoenkai top-scored for Thailand with 41 as they were bowled out for 65.
The result gives India a strong start in the tournament. Deepti reached her 150th T20I cap during the match, becoming the twelfth woman to reach the milestone.
