Sri Lanka opener Pathum Nissanka has been ruled out of the ODI tri-series featuring Pakistan and England after failing to receive medical clearance for a left hamstring injury. The injury was sustained during Sri Lanka's recent tour of England.

Lahiru Udara has been named as his replacement in the 16-member squad. Former captain Charith Asalanka was also dropped after scoring 1, 11 and 7 in his last three innings. The tri-series runs from October 18 to 31 in Rawalpindi and Lahore.

Pakistan will face Sri Lanka on October 18 at Rawalpindi before taking on England on October 20. The top two teams advance to the final on October 31 at Gaddafi Stadium.

CricHubb Take

Nissanka's absence removes Sri Lanka's most consistent ODI opener from a tournament that doubles as preparation for the 2027 World Cup cycle, forcing the selectors to test alternative combinations under competitive conditions.
