BCCI announces strategy shift for SENA tours
Devajit Saikia says the BCCI will prioritise rest and acclimatisation before SENA tours.
BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia said the board will build rest, acclimatisation and warm-up matches into the schedule before any major series in SENA countries. The decision followed a performance review meeting at the board's Mumbai headquarters on Thursday.
The board is reacting to the recent run of injuries and the heavy workload players carry. Saikia pointed to the two-month IPL block that sits right before India's England tour as a key factor.
The BCCI wants a more sustainable plan ahead of the 2027 ODI World Cup, so the Future Tours Programme will be adjusted to give players recovery time between series.

The change could force England and Australia to adjust their own home schedules, since India will now push back against back-to-back long tours.
