Pragyan Ojha set to become interim chief selector
Pragyan Ojha will lead the selection committee on an interim basis after Ajit Agarkar's term ends.
Pragyan Ojha will chair the Indian men's selection committee on an interim basis once Ajit Agarkar's term finishes on October 4. He's the youngest of the five selectors but has played the most Tests.
The Lodha committee rule hands the job to the most capped Test player on the panel. Parthiv Patel has 25 Tests to Ojha's 24, leaving only those two in contention.
The position pays Rs 3 crore a year, though some former players now earn more from IPL coaching and commentary.

If the salary gap widens, the BCCI may struggle to attract any former Test players who still have strong broadcast or franchise offers on the table.
