Jason Behrendorff ruled out of BBL 16 after shoulder surgery
Behrendorff undergoes shoulder surgery and will miss BBL 16, leaving the Renegades to manage without their leading strike bowler.
Melbourne Renegades left-arm seamer Jason Behrendorff will miss the entire BBL 16 season after shoulder surgery. The 36-year-old joined the Renegades on a three-year deal last season and has 145 wickets in Big Bash history at 7.15.
His first season at the club brought just five wickets in eight matches. Behrendorff says he has a clear plan with the medical team and will stay involved through the media while he recovers.
Tom Rogers is due back from his own shoulder injury. Brendan Doggett and Will Sutherland will carry extra workload, and the Renegades will sign an injury replacement — rookie left-arm seamer Harry Hoekstra is one option being considered.
