Misbah-ul-Haq offers resignation from PCB selection committee

Misbah-ul-Haq resigned from the PCB selection committee amid mid-series squad changes on the England tour.

Misbah-ul-Haq has offered to resign from the Pakistan Cricket Board's selection committee after the board carried out a seven-player overhaul during the ongoing England Test tour. The PCB has not yet accepted the resignation.

Misbah also decided to step down as batting consultant at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore. The changes followed Pakistan's heavy defeat at Lord's, after which the board sacked seven players and two coaches and added five uncapped players for the final Test.

The PCB has separately launched a high-level investigation into Imam-ul-Haq's injury after releasing the batter from the tour. A separate report claims the board had considered banning Imam following a 2025 probe that found he faked an injury.

CricHubb Take

The mid-series overhaul and separate injury probe show the PCB's internal fractures run deeper than a single tour result.
