ICC bans USA's Akhilesh Reddy for eight years
Akhilesh Reddy received an eight-year ban after an ICC tribunal found him guilty of match-fixing and obstructing an investigation during the Abu Dhabi T10.
USA's Bodugum Akhilesh Reddy has been banned from all cricket for eight years after an ICC Anti-Corruption Tribunal found him guilty of three counts of breaching the Anti-Corruption Code. The charges relate to the Abu Dhabi T10 competition in November 2025. The ban has been backdated to 21 November 2025, when Reddy was provisionally suspended.
The Tribunal found Reddy guilty of attempting to fix matches, soliciting another participant to fix matches, and obstructing the investigation by deleting data from a mobile device. The charges were brought by the ICC after it acted as the Designated Anti-Corruption Official for the tournament on behalf of the Emirates Cricket Board. Reddy played four T20Is for the USA and took one wicket.
The 26-year-old had approached a teammate before the opening match and asked him to give runs while bowling. The teammate reported the approach to the ICC, and investigators later found that Reddy had deleted WhatsApp chats and call logs. Reddy claimed it was routine data hygiene, but the tribunal ruled he deliberately destroyed evidence.
