Chris Dehring says West Indies receive no revenue from India series

Dehring says the 1997 ICC model leaves West Indies without revenue from series played in India.

Cricket West Indies CEO Chris Dehring said the board receives no revenue from the ongoing T20I series against India. He estimates the matches could generate $20-30 million in broadcasting revenue for the hosts.

Dehring traced the gap to a 1997 ICC vote that let host nations keep all domestic rights. Before that, touring teams collected a guaranteed fee that often beat what they earned at home.

The structure leaves smaller boards dependent on outside income while larger markets hold onto what their audiences generate.

Dehring's numbers expose a structural problem: the 1997 rule didn't just cut revenue, it removed the touring fee that once kept smaller boards afloat.
