Bangladesh name squad for first bilateral ODI series against Australia
Bangladesh include two debutants for historic ODI series in Australia.
Bangladesh have named a 16-member squad for their first bilateral ODI series against Australia, with pace-bowling allrounder Disha Biswas and Habiba Islam Pinky earning maiden ODI call-ups. The three-match series begins October 9 at Allan Border Field in Brisbane.
Nigar Sultana Joty will captain the side, with Nahida Akter named as vice-captain. Murshida Khatun returns after an absence since January 2025, while Dilara Akter is back after her last ODI appearance at the World Cup Qualifier in April 2025.
Disha Biswas previously captained the Bangladesh Under-19 side but has yet to make her senior international debut. Habiba Islam Pinky has one prior international appearance, a T20I against India in May 2024.

The series gives Bangladesh their first sustained look at Australian conditions ahead of the 2029 World Cup cycle, with the two uncapped players carrying the weight of that preparation.
