Joburg Super Kings sign Pollard and du Plessis at SA20 auction
Joburg Super Kings made the biggest investments at the SA20 auction while MI Cape Town strengthened their pace attack.
Joburg Super Kings signed Kieron Pollard for R1.5 million and Faf du Plessis for R2.7 million at the SA20 2027 auction in Johannesburg on Wednesday. The franchise also secured 18-year-old all-rounder Jason Rowles for R2.9 million, the highest bid of the auction.
MI Cape Town signed Trent Boult and Shimron Hetmyer for R1.5 million each, while Wiaan Mulder went to the same franchise for R2.6 million. Pretoria Capitals added Rassie van der Dussen and Temba Bavuma.
Sunrisers Eastern Cape signed only Nandre Burger and Craig Overton. Durban's Super Giants and Paarl Royals had already completed their squads before the auction began.
