Gambhir says bowlers' careers at stake after Ranchi loss
Gambhir defended his bowlers after West Indies chased 249 in Ranchi to level the T20I series.
India head coach Gautam Gambhir said bowlers' careers are at stake after West Indies chased down 249 in the second T20I at Ranchi on Friday. The visitors got there in 18.3 overs for a six-wicket win.
Gambhir argued the bowlers have earned their place in the dressing room and deserve a fair contest between bat and ball. He singled out West Indies off-spinner Roston Chase, whose three for 24 proved decisive.
The result levelled the five-match series at 1-1. India will play the third T20I at Holkar Stadium in Indore on Sunday.

Gambhir's public defence shifts the spotlight onto the curator in Indore: if the pitch stays flat, India's bowlers face another high-scoring chase and the same questions about selection security.
