Paul Stirling breaks finger; Tim Tector called up
Ireland T20I captain Paul Stirling broke his left ring finger and will miss the remaining ODIs against Namibia.
Ireland captain Paul Stirling fractured the ring finger of his left hand while fielding at short cover against Namibia in the 15th over. He injured the finger attempting a catch off Jan Frylinck and a hospital assessment confirmed the break on the same day.
Stirling will return home for rehabilitation, and uncapped ODI player Tim Tector has been added to the squad for the remaining two ODIs. Tector has played eight T20Is and recently performed well in the European T20 Premier League.
The fourth ODI is scheduled for 30 October in Windhoek at 7.30am Irish time, followed by the fifth match on 1 November.

Tector’s elevation gives Ireland a chance to blood an emerging batter in a low-stakes bilateral series before tougher assignments later in the cycle.
