BCB announces free entry to select galleries for first Bangladesh-West Indies Test
Spectators can watch the first Bangladesh-West Indies Test free of charge from designated galleries in Mirpur.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board announced on Friday that spectators will be allowed free entry to the North and South galleries for all five days of the first Test against West Indies at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur. The arrangement extends the usual provision of free entry for schoolchildren at Test matches in the country.
The West Indies team arrived earlier this week and is currently playing a two-day warm-up match against BCB XI in Mirpur. The first Test begins on 28 October, with the second Test scheduled for 5 November in Sylhet. Both matches form part of the World Test Championship.
The free entry arrangement will not apply to the Grand Stand, Shaheed Jewel Stand, Shaheed Mushtaque Stand or other VIP and hospitality areas. The BCB has not announced similar provisions for the second Test in Sylhet.

The decision to extend free entry beyond schoolchildren to general spectators suggests the BCB is prioritising attendance numbers over gate revenue for a series against a lower-ranked opponent.
