Former Pakistan wicketkeeper Kamran Akmal criticised Saim Ayub for his baby-cradle gesture after dismissing Vaibhav Sooryavanshi in the Asian Games men's cricket final. Akmal said Ayub should focus on his performance rather than social media relevance.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, aged 15 years, 6 months and 6 days, became the youngest Indian ever to win an Asian Games gold medal. The left-hander scored 15 from nine balls in the final after hitting 38 from 21 balls in the semi-final against Sri Lanka.

India posted 211 for six with half-centuries from Abhishek Sharma and Tilak Varma. Pakistan replied with 192 for six despite Hasan Nawaz's 96 from 51 balls.

The send-off shows how quickly the pressure of India-Pakistan matches can push players toward gestures that draw attention away from performance.
