Jofra Archer signs one-year contract extension with Sussex
Jofra Archer extends his Sussex contract by one year, reaching 12 seasons with the county.
England fast bowler Jofra Archer has signed a one-year contract extension with Sussex, taking his stay at Hove to 12 seasons. The 31-year-old made his county debut in 2016 and has taken 223 first-class wickets at an average of 25.17.
Archer missed four years of red-ball cricket because of injuries before returning for Sussex in June 2025. He played his first Test since 2021 against India in July 2025 and took 23 wickets in five Tests against New Zealand and Pakistan this summer.
Incoming Sussex head coach Matt Walker said retaining Archer is important for the club's plans across all formats.

Archer's extended stay at Sussex gives England an additional red-ball window to monitor his workload management before the 2027 Ashes cycle begins.
