Shafali Verma was handed one demerit point after the ICC found her guilty of breaching Level 1 of the Code of Conduct during the second T20I against Zimbabwe in Raipur. She threw the ball to the ground in frustration after dropping a catch in the 12th over of Zimbabwe's innings.

The incident occurred during India's nine-wicket victory on Sunday. Match referee G.S. Lakshmi imposed the sanction after the charge was reported by on-field umpires Vrinda Rathi and Gayathri Venugopalan, third umpire Anna Harris, and fourth umpire Janani Narayanan. Verma accepted the sanction without a formal hearing.

Verma scored 55 in the second match after making 4 in the series opener. India lead the three-match series 2-0.
