Brydon Carse charged by Cricket Regulator over nightclub incident
Carse faces a Cricket Discipline Panel hearing after being charged under ECB conduct regulations following an August nightclub incident in Derby.
Brydon Carse has been charged by the Cricket Regulator with breaching Regulation 3.2 of the ECB Professional Conduct Regulations following an incident in Derby on August 23. The 31-year-old was arrested on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly after footage emerged of him in handcuffs while celebrating with Durham players after a County Championship match.
Carse was subsequently de-arrested and no assault charges were filed after Derbyshire Police closed their investigation last month. He was dropped from England's Test squad for the remainder of the Pakistan series and omitted from the T20I and ODI squads against Sri Lanka.
The matter will now be referred to the independent Cricket Discipline Panel for adjudication. An ECB spokesperson said squad selection decisions will continue on a tour-by-tour basis while the process remains ongoing.

The charge places Carse's immediate international future in the hands of an independent panel rather than national selectors, creating a precedent for how off-field incidents are adjudicated outside squad selection.
