Sourav Ganguly named Delhi Capitals head coach
Sourav Ganguly takes over as Delhi Capitals head coach after receiving ombudsman clearance on conflict-of-interest rules.
Sourav Ganguly has been appointed head coach of Delhi Capitals for the 2027 IPL season, replacing Hemang Badani. Ganguly, who remains president of the Cricket Association of Bengal, said he has received clearance from the BCCI ombudsman regarding conflict-of-interest concerns.
Ganguly has worked with the franchise since 2019 in advisory and director of cricket roles. He also coached Pretoria Capitals to the SA20 final last season. Yuvraj Singh is expected to join as batting coach alongside Chaminda Vaas and Amit Mishra.
Delhi finished sixth in the 2026 IPL and missed the playoffs. The franchise is led by Axar Patel and added Rishabh Pant ahead of the next season.
