Scott Edwards steps down as Netherlands captain

Edwards ends four-year tenure after 56 ODIs; Bas de Leede takes over for remaining CWC League 2 matches.

Scott Edwards has stepped down as Netherlands captain after four years in charge. He took the job in June 2022 when Pieter Seelaar retired with back trouble, and he leaves with 24 ODI wins from 56 matches plus another 50 T20Is.

All-rounder Bas de Leede steps in for the remaining CWC League 2 games against Oman and UAE. Edwards was 29 when he handed over the side.
