Mushfiqur Rahim injured in training ahead of West Indies Test

Mushfiqur Rahim leaves training after being hit on the hand, raising fitness concerns before the first Test against West Indies.

Bangladesh batter Mushfiqur Rahim was struck on the hand during a net session on Tuesday and left the training ground after receiving ice treatment. The extent of the injury remains unclear ahead of the first Test against West Indies, which begins on October 28 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Dhaka.

Mushfiqur had already been managing a finger complaint that surfaced during Bangladesh's ODI series against Afghanistan. The latest blow may have aggravated the existing issue.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board has not issued a medical update. Taskin Ahmed has returned to the squad for the two-match series after replacing Khaled Ahmed, while Nahid Rana remains unavailable due to a long-standing injury.

CricHubb Take

The timing of the injury leaves Bangladesh with limited preparation time to finalise their middle-order composition if Mushfiqur is ruled out of the opening Test.
