Spencer Johnson eyes injury-free run after starring for Australia A
Spencer Johnson wants an injury-free stretch after leading Australia A's bowling effort against India A.
Spencer Johnson stepped up with the ball once Mahli Beardman was rested for the second one-dayer against India A in Puducherry. The left-arm pacer helped Australia A seal the series and said he’s after an uninterrupted run of cricket after missing time with a back stress fracture.
Johnson took a sharp catch to send back Ruturaj Gaikwad, his CSK captain, and said the wicket meant more than his bowling figures. He liked the conditions for short and back-of-length bowling and noted the rotation of bowlers helped manage the heat.
Johnson signed for CSK as an injury replacement in the 2026 IPL but has yet to get through a full season without interruption.

The bigger question for CSK is whether Johnson’s back can handle the IPL’s back-loaded schedule once the Indian domestic season ends.
