Anaya Bangar secures Australian clearance after Indian board silence
Former Mumbai youth player cleared for Australian community cricket while awaiting Indian board response.
Anaya Bangar has obtained Cricket Australia approval to play community cricket following gender-affirming surgery in March. The former Mumbai U-19 player had stated they believed their cricket career had ended after the procedure.
Bangar played alongside Sarfaraz Khan and Musheer Khan during their youth careers in Mumbai. No response has been received from the BCCI regarding similar domestic participation in India.
The Australian clearance allows Bangar to compete in community-level matches across the country. The decision marks the first official pathway for the player since their transition.
