WPL franchises set to target capped Indians and overseas stars at mini-auction
Franchises will target capped Indians and proven overseas players when the WPL mini-auction opens on October 28.
Teams enter the WPL mini-auction on October 28 in Kochi with a clear plan: spend on capped Indian players and established overseas talent. UP Warriorz hold the biggest remaining purse at Rs 3.75 crore and eight vacancies to fill.
Available capped Indians include G Kamalini, Kiran Navgire, Sneh Rana, Taniya Bhatia and Saika Ishaque. Overseas options are Sophie Molineux, Grace Harris, Jess Jonassen, Chamari Athapaththu and Sophia Dunkley.
Sixteen-year-old Ira Jadhav could draw attention too — she scored an unbeaten 346 in last year's Women's Under-19 One-Day tournament. Twenty-seven slots remain across the five franchises, seven of them overseas.

With seven overseas slots left, teams have to decide if the quick fix is an overseas all-rounder or if they'd rather lock in a young Indian batter who won't need an overseas spot next year.
