Nitish Reddy says workload management is ongoing process for all-rounders

Nitish Reddy says all-rounders face heavier workloads than other players and must manage fitness carefully.

Nitish Kumar Reddy said on Saturday that managing workload remains a continuous challenge for all-rounders who must bat and bowl in both matches and practice sessions. The 23-year-old took one for 31 and scored an unbeaten 26 off 13 balls in India's four-wicket win over New Zealand.

Reddy has suffered multiple injuries since his international debut, including a sports hernia, side strain, left knee issue, quadriceps injury and neck spasms. He said nobody likes getting injured and that he is still learning how to balance the dual demands of his role.

Reddy credited head coach Gautam Gambhir for reinforcing belief during the tense chase. He added that staying calm at the crease and waiting for the right moment helped turn the game in India's favour.

Reddy's public acknowledgment that he is still learning workload management signals a shift in how Indian all-rounders discuss their physical limits, moving away from the stoic silence that previously masked recurring injuries.
