India recovered from 19 for 4 to beat Zimbabwe by four wickets in the first women's T20I at Raipur on Friday. Deepti Sharma scored 49 and Niki Prasad remained unbeaten on 39 as the pair added 82 runs to complete a target of 115 with 4.2 overs to spare.

Zimbabwe posted 114 for 5 after India restricted them from a promising 60 for 1 at the halfway stage. Kelis Ndhlovu made 42 and Sharne Mayers an unbeaten 43, while Shree Charani took 1 for 14 and Nandani Sharma finished with 2 for 11.

The match marked the first women's international at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium and the first bilateral series between the two sides in the format.

CricHubb Take

The 82-run stand between Deepti and the debutant signals that India now have a proven middle-order template for chasing modest totals under pressure, rather than relying on top-order firepower alone.
