Pakistan Cricket Board confirmed Shaun Tait as the national team's new white-ball bowling coach, replacing Ashley Noffke. The change was announced alongside squads for the Sri Lanka T20I series and ODI tri-series. Noffke stepped down after approximately 16 months in the role and was approached by the Netherlands for their head coach position.

Tait previously served as Pakistan's full-time bowling coach from March 2022 to January 2023. The 43-year-old most recently worked with Bangladesh's fast-bowling unit before stepping down earlier this year. He will join head coach Mike Hesson and batting coach Michael Smith in the support staff.

Tait represented Australia in three Tests, 35 ODIs and 21 T20Is during his playing career.

CricHubb Take

Tait's return brings familiarity with Pakistan's pace group but also raises questions about continuity after Noffke's exit. The PCB is betting that prior rapport outweighs the need for a fresh voice.
