Ajinkya Rahane has named MS Dhoni captain and wicketkeeper of his all-time India Test XI. The 38-year-old picked only players he had shared the field with in international or domestic cricket. Murali Vijay and Shikhar Dhawan open, Rahul Dravid bats at No. 3 and Sachin Tendulkar at No. 4. Rahane slots in at No. 5, Dhoni at No. 6. Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin handle the all-round and spin duties, while Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammed Shami and Ishant Sharma form the pace attack. Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma don't feature. Rahane retired from all formats in July after scoring 5,077 Test runs in 85 matches at 38.46.

CricHubb Take

The exclusion of Kohli and Rohit from a list drawn from players Rahane actually played with raises the question of how soon a new generation will start building teams around themselves instead of the 2018-2023 core.
