Maia Bouchier scored 104 off 95 balls to lead England to a record women's ODI run chase of 282 against Ireland at Grace Road on Tuesday.

England reached the target with six wickets and 71 balls remaining. Bouchier struck 11 boundaries in an innings that secured a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.

Three Ireland batters scored fifties in their total of 281 for five, but England's chase never faltered after an opening stand of 80.

CricHubb Take

Bouchier's return to form after missing the T20 World Cup squad shows England have a ready replacement for the retirements of Knight and Beaumont. Her ability to anchor and accelerate in the same innings gives the ODI side a template that had been missing since the leadership transition.
