India name largely unchanged squad for Asia Cup 2026

India have named a largely unchanged squad for the Asia Cup 2026, again leaving out Yastika Bhatia while retaining faith in 18-year-old G Kamalini.

India have retained most of the squad from the Asian Games for the Asia Cup 2026, with the selectors again overlooking Yastika Bhatia despite her recent century. G Kamalini keeps her place as the second wicketkeeper-batter.

Shreyanka Patil is the only notable absence after an ankle ligament injury ended her T20 World Cup campaign. Leg-spin all-rounder Prema Rawat, who replaced Patil in the World Cup squad, retains her spot.

The Asia Cup is expected to run from late August to mid-September, followed by the Asian Games in Japan from September 17 to 22. Four Indian players are currently competing in The Hundred in England.

CricHubb Take

Selectors have chosen continuity over rewarding recent domestic form, which risks sending a message that established names carry more weight than current output in white-ball selection.
