Chris Lynn served one-month ban after positive cocaine test
Chris Lynn served a one-month ban after testing positive for cocaine in a sample taken after the T20 Blast final on 18 July.
Chris Lynn received a one-month ban after testing positive for cocaine following the T20 Blast final. The sample was taken on 18 July 2026 and showed benzoylecgonine, a cocaine metabolite, from out-of-competition use on 15-16 July. The ban ran from 31 July to 30 August 2026.
The Cricket Regulator charged Lynn with two anti-doping violations. One charge was withdrawn because the level fell below the reporting threshold. Lynn completed a substance-abuse treatment programme, which reduced his suspension to one month.
No sanction was placed on Northamptonshire Steelbacks. Lynn scored four runs in the T20 Blast final before the positive test result emerged. Lynn, 36, has not signed a BBL contract for the upcoming season.
