Vaishnavi Sharma, the 20-year-old left-arm spinner, took six wickets for 22 runs for Madhya Pradesh against Andhra Pradesh. She claimed four wickets in four consecutive balls during the match.

Sharma made her international debut in December 2024. She took nine wickets in two ODIs against Zimbabwe, including five for 39. She also took eight wickets in three ODIs for India A against Australia, finishing with 17 wickets in that tournament, the most by any player.

In the 2024-25 multi-day tournament final, she recorded figures of eight for 50 and 14 for 128. Humaira Kazi was the first Indian woman to achieve four wickets in four consecutive balls in T20 cricket for Mumbai in 2022.

CricHubb Take

Sharma's figures match an achievement previously recorded only once by an Indian woman, indicating that such spells may become less rare as more left-arm spinners enter senior domestic cricket.
