PCB issues 24-hour show-cause notice to selectors over England Test squad

Naqvi's notice preceded Misbah-ul-Haq's reported resignation from the selection committee.

PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi has issued a 24-hour show-cause notice to Pakistan's selectors over the England Test squad selection. The notice came hours before Misbah-ul-Haq reportedly resigned as chief selector.

The board's action follows Pakistan's 194-run defeat at Lord's and the subsequent mid-series overhaul that saw seven players and two coaches removed from the tour. Five uncapped players were added to the squad for the final Test.

The PCB has not yet accepted Misbah's resignation from the selection committee. The board has also launched an investigation into Imam-ul-Haq's injury after releasing the batter from the England tour.

CricHubb Take

The rapid sequence of notice and resignation suggests the PCB leadership is attempting to establish accountability before public criticism intensifies.
