Wisden Women's Cricket Weekly examined the absence of several high-profile players from the Women's Premier League auction list during its latest episode. The discussion addressed whether England players might miss upcoming T20Is against Sri Lanka due to WPL commitments. The podcast also featured an interview with the founders of Maiden Cricket, who discussed establishing their women's and girls' cricket kit business while still at school and their appearance on Dragons Den.
CricHubb Take
The absence of established names from the WPL auction list suggests franchise budgets may be concentrating on a smaller group of players, potentially increasing the financial premium attached to retained or pre-signed talent.
