India Test players complete fitness tests at BCCI Centre of Excellence

India players mark fitness benchmarks at CoE ahead of eight-month international schedule.

India's centrally contracted players underwent mandatory fitness assessments at the BCCI's Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru on Saturday.

Players who featured in the recent Sri Lanka Test series completed the Bronco Test, 2km run, YoYo test and cricket-specific drills less than 48 hours after returning from Colombo. The assessments mark the start of an eight-month period leading into multiple international commitments.

The fitness parameters will determine individual training loads and identify any areas requiring attention before the home season begins.

The compressed timeline between returning from Sri Lanka and beginning domestic fitness protocols leaves little room for players to address minor niggles before they become selection issues.
