Yuzvendra Chahal says he stayed in rehab for 26 days to treat alcohol addiction
Yuzvendra Chahal revealed he underwent 26 days of rehab to overcome alcohol addiction that worsened after his divorce.
Yuzvendra Chahal said he checked into a rehab centre and stayed there for 26 days after his alcohol consumption crossed all limits following his divorce. The leg-spinner made the remarks during a podcast with former India cricketer Aakash Chopra.
Chahal said the decision made a massive difference to his personal life and that his maturity increased while his emotions became more balanced. He added that last IPL his body felt like he was 30 years old again after doing gym work, fielding drills and training properly.
Chahal said his alcohol issues began during the early IPL years and became excessive after his divorce. He realised that continuing down that path would ruin the cricket he loved most and decided to quit. He now enjoys life without the substance and feels he is in a much happier space.

Chahal's admission reframes his recent career dip as a health issue rather than a form issue, and shows how personal recovery can restore professional sharpness.
