Sri Lanka chase 429 to beat England by two wickets off penultimate ball
Sri Lanka pulled off the second-highest successful chase in ODI history to beat England.
Sri Lanka chased down England's 429 for 4 to win by two wickets off the penultimate ball in the ODI tri-series match at Rawalpindi. Harry Brook scored 202 off 116 balls, the fastest ODI double century, but England still lost. Pavan Rathnayake made 130 and Dasun Shanaka scored 97 for Sri Lanka. Janith Liyanage hit an unbeaten 61 off 27 balls to seal the chase. England captain Brook said the double century held no value after the defeat. The result leaves England needing wins in their remaining matches to reach the final.
