India face West Indies in the opening match of a five-match T20I series at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on Tuesday at 7:00 pm IST. The toss is scheduled for 6:30 pm IST. The series will continue in Ranchi, Indore, Hyderabad and Bengaluru on October 9, 11, 14 and 17 respectively.

India enter the series fresh from their Asian Games gold medal win and a 2-1 ODI series victory. Shreyas Iyer captains the side, which includes Abhishek Sharma, Tilak Varma, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, Ishan Kishan, Sanju Samson, Shivam Dube, Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel, Ravi Bishnoi, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Arshdeep Singh, Prince Yadav, Mayank Yadav and Naman Dhir. West Indies, led by Shai Hope, include Shimron Hetmyer, Rovman Powell, Romario Shepherd and Akeal Hosein.

India have been fined 20 per cent of their match fee for slow over-rates in the third ODI, while West Indies were docked 10 per cent. The series will be broadcast live on Star Sports Network with streaming available on the JioHotstar app and website.

CricHubb Take

The series timing shows how India now treats T20Is as a permanent testing ground rather than a seasonal afterthought, with squad rotation becoming the default rather than the exception.
