Japan says teams free to arrange own hotels for 2026 Asian Games cricket

Japan Cricket Association says teams may book own hotels after India, Pakistan flag accommodation concerns.

CricHubb1h ago

Japan Cricket Association chief executive Naoki Alex Miyaji said participating teams can make their own accommodation arrangements for the 2026 Asian Games. The statement followed concerns raised by India and Pakistan about hotel facilities.

Miyaji rejected claims that rooms were too small and said organisers had met all requirements. The association added that the event facilities remain on schedule.

No further complaints have been lodged since the clarification. The tournament will be held in Japan later this year.

The clarification shifts responsibility for logistics back to boards, which may reduce future friction but also removes any central oversight on accommodation standards.
