PCB chief Naqvi defends England Test squad overhaul after 2-0 series loss
Naqvi hits back at critics over Pakistan's mid-series England squad changes.
Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Mohsin Naqvi defended the Test squad and coaching overhaul that followed Pakistan's 2-0 series loss to England. Seven players were dropped, five uncapped players brought in, and Mike Hesson and Ashley Noffke took on coaching roles.
Naqvi called the decisions essential and pointed to white-ball progress as proof the board is moving forward. A former Pakistan captain criticised how the dropped players were treated during the series.
The third Test starts at Edgbaston on September 9.

Naqvi's public defence sets up the awkward question of what happens if the new squad still loses at Edgbaston — whether the board doubles down or starts looking for different answers.
