Jeet Raval retires from professional cricket
The former New Zealand opener ends his career after 24 Tests and more than 10,000 domestic runs.
Jeet Raval has called time on his professional career. He played 24 Tests for New Zealand between 2016 and 2020, and racked up more than 10,000 runs in the Plunket Shield.
Raval made his debut against Pakistan in 2016 and bowed out against Australia four years later. Two centuries and nine half-centuries came in that time at the top of the order.
At 38, his departure leaves New Zealand short on experienced openers just weeks before they host India.

The timing matters. Raval's exit lands right as New Zealand prepare to face India, and the cupboard isn't exactly full of openers who've already faced the new ball at that level.
